Each piece of dichroic glass jewelry is uniquely designed and hand crafted to reflect the artist's creativity. The word "dichroic" (di-crow-ic) refers to the reflected and transmitted colors seen in the glass. A similar effect is found in nature in peacock feathers, butterfly wings, and opals. The reflected and transmitted colors found in the glass are the result of a metallic coating applied to the glass in a vacuum chamber. The metals applied are usually precious and semi-precious metals such as gold, silver, copper, titanium, platinum, etc. The dichroic glass is then cut by the artist and layered with other types of glass. It is then fired in a kiln one or more time to achieve the desired effect. Due to variables, such as slight differences in the amount of metallic coating and firing time, no two pieces are ever alike which makes each piece truly unique.

When light touches the glass it takes on a life of its own. This life transcends to the person who wears the jewelry. May the beauty of the glass cast its reflections upon you.
